On February 21st, I received notification that my book (The Dawn of Nia) has been accepted into the Library Journal’s curated SELF-e Select Module, which helps develop robust local writing communities and keeps libraries at the center of the indie book movement. Now, I have the opportunity to apply to the SELF-e Ambassador program. My fingers are crossed!
From July 5 to July 9, I will be in Chicago at the annual Golden Crown Literary Society conference with S. Andrea Allen of BLF Press to present a workshop titled: “Go Where You Are Loved: Creating Sustainable Writing Communities for Lesbians of Color”–which is an extension of our mission at the Black Lesbian Literary Collective. I will share the date/time as soon as it’s scheduled.
Special thanks to everyone who signed up for my Goodreads giveaway, which wrapped up on my birthday. Over 500 readers entered; only 3 won.
